This talk will look at the improvements to the JVM as part of JSR-292, including invokedynamic, interface injection, tail calls, and other features that are on every language designer's wish list.
Brian Goetz has been a professional software developer for more than twenty years. Brian is the author of the very successful 'Java Concurrency in Practice', and has written over 75 articles on Java development. He is one of the primary members of the Java Community Process JSR 166 Expert Group (Concurrency Utilities), and has served on numerous other JCP Expert Groups. Brian is a Sr. Staff Engineer at Sun Microsystems. Alex Buckley is Computational Theologist at Sun Microsystems, responsible for the Java Language Specification and the Java VM Specification. He is currently spec lead for JSRs on modularity and annotations planned for Java SE 7. He has a PhD in Computer Science from Imperial College London.
